Leather is the traditional third wedding anniversary gift, and unlike most of the list it is a tradition with an actual argument behind it. Three years in, the gift is supposed to represent durability and protection, and leather is the material that visibly improves rather than merely surviving.

Dates, not just initials

For anniversaries we press dates as often as initials. A six character date in the format 06.14.23 fits within our three character limit rule because we count it as a single line rather than three letters, so ask for it in the order notes and we will set it. Roman numerals also work and sit beautifully in a blind press.

Both of you

Two matching small leather goods in the same hide, each with the other’s initials, is the thing people order most for a third anniversary and it is genuinely nice. A pair of passport covers is the most used version of this.

Later anniversaries

Nine is leather in some lists, as is thirty three. We are not going to pretend there is a rule. If leather is the right gift, it is the right gift.

Timing

Allow two to three working days for the monogram and three to five in transit. If your date is inside a week, email us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it will land in time rather than after you have paid.
