Description
The medium Lorne in black is a work bag for a smaller load and a smaller frame. Everything the large one has, the zip, the padded wall, the brass feet, in a body that does not sit wide under the arm on a train.
The numbers are 36cm across the opening, 28cm tall and 12cm deep at the base. A 14 inch laptop goes in the same padded back sleeve, with room for a charger and a slim notebook and not much beyond that. The handles drop 22cm, so the bag clears a jacket on the shoulder and is tight over a heavy coat.
It suits a commute of a laptop and nothing else, or anyone for whom the large one sat too wide under the arm.
The leather
This is aniline dyed full grain, which means dye through the hide rather than a sprayed film over a sanded surface. Scratch a coated black bag and you get a pale line. Scratch this one and the mark buffs back with a thumb.
How it is made
Load bearing seams are saddle stitched by hand, two needles through one hole, so a cut thread stays put instead of running. Brass hardware throughout, unplated, because plating wears through to grey exactly where your hand goes. Inside there is a full height padded laptop wall, a zip pocket facing it, two open pockets and a key leash in the seam. This one is cut when you order it and leaves in 3 to 5 working days.

Will a 14 inch laptop fit in this bag?
Yes. The opening is 36cm across and the base is 12cm deep, and it sits in the padded sleeve on the back wall. Anything larger than a 14 inch will sit above the top edge.
Does the zip run the full width of the opening?
Yes. It is a two way brass zip that runs the whole 36cm, so you can open it from either end or leave a gap in the middle for a cable.
Will this colour scratch or scuff easily?
It is aniline dyed full grain, so the colour runs through the leather instead of sitting on top as a film. A scratch does not leave a pale line, it buffs back with a thumb or a drop of conditioner.
Can I return it if I have my initials pressed on it?
No. A monogrammed bag cannot be resold, so it is final sale. Unmonogrammed bags can go back for 60 days in unused condition and we pay the return postage inside the US.
What is covered if something breaks?
Stitching and hardware are covered for as long as you own the bag. Send it back and we repair it. Wear on the leather itself, and anything caused by an accident, we repair at cost rather than free.
