The Juno — Small Black Leather Tote Bag with Zip

The Juno is the bag you take when you are not carrying work. In black it is the most formal of the five, small enough for an evening and structured enough that it stands upright on a table instead of folding into itself.

26cm wide at the mouth, 11cm deep on the floor of the bag, 20cm from base to handle root. The honest list is a phone, a purse, keys, glasses and a bottle. Nothing with a screen bigger than a paperback. At 18cm of drop it sits high under the arm rather than hanging at the hip.

The leather

The hide is full grain and aniline dyed, so the colour runs through the leather instead of sitting on it as a pigment film. In daylight it reads as very dark brown rather than pure black, which is the giveaway that nothing was sprayed over it.

How it is made

The seams that carry weight are hand stitched rather than machined, because a handle is what fails first on a tote. The base is cut as its own reinforced panel, so a full load sits flat instead of on a fold. The interior is deliberately plain: cotton twill, a zip pocket, a card slot. Dispatch is 3 to 5 working days from order, because nothing here sits on a shelf waiting.
