Description
The medium chocolate Lorne suits a wardrobe built on browns and creams and a commute that is a laptop and nothing else. The depth of the colour is doing quiet work here: a zip top bag rubs against desks, and chocolate hides that.
Measured properly: a 36cm opening over a 12cm base, standing 28cm tall. A 14 inch laptop goes in the same padded back sleeve, with room for a charger and a slim notebook and not much beyond that. Drop is 22cm: clears a jacket on the shoulder and is tight over a heavy coat.
It suits a commute of a laptop and nothing else, or anyone for whom the large one sat too wide under the arm.
The leather
The dye goes right through this hide and takes evenly, which is rare in a dark brown. It looks consistent across a large panel where a lighter brown would show variation.
How it is made
Handles are set through the body panel and riveted in solid brass at both ends, never glued to a tab. Hand stitching where it carries weight, machine stitching where it does not, which is an honest division of labour. The interior is built around the laptop: a padded back wall, a zip pocket, a pen loop and a clipped key leash. Made when you order, which takes 3 to 5 working days, and a monogram adds roughly a day to that.

Yes. The opening is 36cm across and the base is 12cm deep, and it sits in the padded sleeve on the back wall. Anything larger than a 14 inch will sit above the top edge.
Does the zip run the full width of the opening?
Yes. It is a two way brass zip that runs the whole 36cm, so you can open it from either end or leave a gap in the middle for a cable.
Will this colour scratch or scuff easily?
It is aniline dyed full grain, so the colour runs through the leather instead of sitting on top as a film. A scratch does not leave a pale line, it buffs back with a thumb or a drop of conditioner.
What is covered if something breaks?
Stitching and hardware are covered for as long as you own the bag. Send it back and we repair it. Wear on the leather itself, and anything caused by an accident, we repair at cost rather than free.
