Description
Stone canvas with tan leather in the small size is the bag for someone who finds olive too outdoorsy and sand too pale. Dry, neutral and quiet, with the leather base taking the abuse a light coloured bag would otherwise show.
The numbers are 30cm across the opening, 26cm tall and 12cm deep at the base. Sized for a 13 inch laptop or a market run rather than a full working day, and it folds flatter than anything else here when empty. The handles drop 22cm, so the bag clears a jacket on the shoulder and is tight over a heavy coat.
It suits a market, a beach or a car, and it is the bag people keep in the boot because it packs flat.
The canvas and the leather
The canvas is a pale stone 18oz cotton, and every wear point on it is tan full grain leather. It is the combination that shows its history most plainly, which is why the base panel is leather rather than canvas.
How it is made
Load bearing seams are saddle stitched by hand, two needles through one hole, so a cut thread stays put instead of running. Brass hardware throughout, unplated, because plating wears through to grey exactly where your hand goes. Heavy cotton twill inside, one zip pocket and two open ones, stitched in rather than glued so it can be replaced. This one is cut when you order it and leaves in 3 to 5 working days.

Will a 13 inch laptop fit in this bag?
Yes. The opening is 30cm across and the base is 12cm deep, and a machine that size lies flat against the back panel. Anything larger than a 13 inch will sit above the top edge.
How do I clean and re wax the canvas?
Brush off dry dirt, then wipe with a damp cloth and cold water only, never detergent and never a machine. Re wax with an ordinary wax bar once every year or two. We will also re wax it here free in the first two years if you cover the postage.
Is the canvas waterproof?
Water resistant, not waterproof. The wax sheds rain and light spray, and the leather base keeps the bottom of the bag off wet ground. In sustained heavy rain the canvas will eventually wet through and then dry out with no damage.
How long will it take to reach me?

How do I know this is genuinely full grain leather?
Look at the photographs of the surface. Full grain keeps the original grain, including old scars and insect marks, because nothing has been sanded off and sprayed over. If a leather panel is perfectly uniform it has been corrected. Ours are not.
