Description
This is the Lorne for a wardrobe built on browns, camel and cream. Chocolate is dark enough to carry a full working load without looking scruffy by Thursday, and the depth of the colour hides the edge wear that a zip top bag naturally picks up where it rubs against a desk.
41cm across, 30cm high, and a base 14cm deep that does not taper. The 16 inch machine lives in its sleeve against your back, so the rest of the bag stays usable rather than being half full of laptop. The 22cm drop means it clears a jacket on the shoulder and is tight over a heavy coat.
Buy it if you commute with a machine and want the opening shut while you do it.
The leather
Chocolate is a through dyed full grain hide with a very even take up. Scuffs and water marks both disappear into it, which makes it the most forgiving colour we make.
How it is made
The base is cut as its own reinforced panel, so a full load sits flat instead of on a fold. The seams that carry weight are hand stitched rather than machined, because a handle is what fails first on a tote. Heavy twill, a padded sleeve against your back, and a key leash so keys never end up at the bottom. Expect 3 to 5 working days in the workshop before it is boxed and on its way.

Yes. The opening is 41cm across and the base is 14cm deep, and it sits in the padded sleeve on the back wall. Anything larger than a 16 inch will sit above the top edge.
Does the zip run the full width of the opening?
Yes. It is a two way brass zip that runs the whole 41cm, so you can open it from either end or leave a gap in the middle for a cable.
Will this colour scratch or scuff easily?
It is aniline dyed full grain, so the colour runs through the leather instead of sitting on top as a film. A scratch does not leave a pale line, it buffs back with a thumb or a drop of conditioner.
What is covered if something breaks?
Stitching and hardware are covered for as long as you own the bag. Send it back and we repair it. Wear on the leather itself, and anything caused by an accident, we repair at cost rather than free.
