What an everyday purse needs
Carried every day, a bag needs four things: a closure you trust, a pocket for the phone where your hand naturally goes, a strap that does not slip, and leather that gets better rather than tired. Every bag in this collection meets all four, whether it is the Ashby, the Hollis, the Selby, the Rydal or the small Tilly.
Choosing by your day
Commute and office: the Ashby or Rydal. School runs and errands: the Hollis, which zips shut and swallows a water bottle. Light days and evenings: the Tilly crossbody. If you change bags often, choose by what you take out of it most and pick the shape that keeps that within reach.
Sizes in this collection
Everyday bags in this collection range from the 8.75-inch Tilly to the 16.25-inch Selby. Pick by what you carry daily, using the depth column as much as width.

The leather
A bag you use every day ages fastest, so the leather decides whether it looks worn in or worn out after a year. Full-grain with its surface left on wears in: it softens, darkens and smooths over small scuffs.
How it is made
Daily bags are built around the parts that get used hundreds of times a month. Zips are set into reinforced mouths, pockets are stitched rather than glued, and the strap anchors are doubled and hand sewn in our own workshop.
Colours
For a bag carried every day, darker colours hide wear best: chocolate and black stay tidy longest. If you like a bag that records its history, choose cognac or tan and let the patina build.
Initials, delivery and returns
Initials make an everyday purse easy to spot among identical bags, and they are free. Every order ships in 3 to 5 working days with 30 day returns.
Care
Empty an everyday bag once a week. Crumbs and coins wear the lining, and an overstuffed bag stretches. A quick wipe and a monthly look at the strap keeps it in shape for years.
Keeping a daily bag organised
The best daily bag puts each thing where your hand expects it. Use the zip pocket for things you rarely need but must not lose, such as a passport, spare key or cards. Use the open pockets for things you grab often, like your phone and lip balm. Keep the main body for bulky items. Most of our everyday styles follow that layout, so moving between them feels familiar. If you change bags daily, a small pouch makes switching quick.
How to tell if a bag will survive daily use
A bag carried every day gets opened hundreds of times a month, so look at the parts that move. Zips should be metal and stitched into the leather, not glued. Pocket edges should be folded and sewn, not just cut. Strap anchors should be riveted as well as stitched. The base should be thicker than the sides or have a separate panel. Our everyday styles have all of these, which is why we cover stitching for life and hardware for five years.
Rotating bags vs carrying one
Leather lasts longer if it gets a day off now and then, much like leather shoes. If you carry one bag every day, empty it each weekend and let it rest for a night. If you switch between two bags, the leather recovers between uses and the strap anchors take less strain. Either way works with full-grain. A common setup is a structured bag for weekdays, such as the Ashby or Rydal, and a soft one for weekends, such as the Hollis or Selby.
Choosing between our everyday styles in one minute
If you carry a tablet most days, choose the Ashby or Rydal. If you carry a bottle and a spare layer, choose the Hollis. If weight matters more than pockets, choose the Selby. If you only need your phone, cards and keys, choose the Tilly. Every style comes in black and at least two browns, so choose the shape first and the colour second.
