Size it to the laptop
A work bag that does not take the laptop does not get used. The Lorne work tote has a padded sleeve: the medium takes a 14-inch laptop and the large a 16-inch. The large Marlow takes a 15-inch laptop in an open tote. Measure the laptop itself rather than going by screen size, because other brands are often a little larger than the number suggests. Every measurement is on the size guide.
Where the initials go
A work bag usually carries initials on the front, low and to one side, or inside on the panel facing you. A blind press is the classic for a work bag; gold foil on a brown leather is the more traditional look.
Built for daily carrying
Handles take the most strain on a work bag, so they are full grain leather and stitched by hand. Stitching is covered for life and hardware for five years.
Timing
Every bag is made to order. Smooth leather and suede bags leave the workshop in 3 to 5 working days, hand woven bags in 4 to 6, and a monogram adds one working day. US orders then travel 3 to 5 working days by tracked express courier, and they ship duty paid, so there is nothing to pay on the doorstep. If the date you are buying for is less than two weeks away, ask us first and we will tell you honestly whether it will arrive in time.
