The Ely — Chocolate Suede Belt Bag

This is the Ely belt bag in suede: the same crescent shape, zip top and hidden back pocket, in soft cow suede edged with smooth leather.

Chocolate suede is a deep, soft brown with a velvety nap. It is the easiest suede to live with, since it hides marks and goes with almost everything.

It is 9″ (23 cm) wide, 5″ (13 cm) tall and 2.25″ (6 cm) deep. The strap fits waists from 26″ to 48″ (66 to 122 cm) and lets out to wear as a sling. Phone, cards, keys and a passport.

Inside there is one slip pocket inside and a hidden zip pocket on the back panel. It comes with an adjustable 1″ (2.5 cm) smooth leather strap with brass buckle, fits waists 26″ to 48″ (66 to 122 cm), or wears as a sling or crossbody.

The suede

Suede is the inner side of the hide, brushed until it has a soft, velvety nap. It is a different thing from full-grain, and we say so: it is softer and lighter but less resistant to rain. Every edge, the strap and the parts your hands touch most are trimmed in smooth full-grain leather.

How it is made

Suede panels are cut, bound in smooth leather along every edge and hand stitched in our own workshop. Binding the edges is what stops suede from fraying or stretching at the corners.

Care

Brush it with a soft suede brush to lift the nap, use a suede protector spray before the first wear, and let it dry naturally if it gets caught in rain, then brush again.
