The Hollis — Olive Leather Hobo Bag

Olive is a muted green-brown, earthy rather than bright. It sits with camel, cream, black and denim as easily as a neutral does.

The Hollis is a crescent hobo: it curves down from a single wide strap and relaxes against your side, with a zip top so nothing falls out when it slouches.

Laid flat it is 15.75″ (40 cm) wide and 11.75″ (30 cm) tall, 4.75″ (12 cm) deep at the base, with a 9.75″ (25 cm) drop. It holds far more than its outline suggests: a water bottle, a cardigan, a tablet and the daily kit.

Inside there is a zip pocket high on the back wall for keys and cards, so they never sink into the bottom of the curve, and two open pockets for a phone and sunglasses.

The leather

The hide is full-grain, which means the top surface is left on, grain, small scars and all, instead of being sanded and printed. It is the strongest layer of the skin and the only one that ages well.

How it is made

Every bag is cut, stitched and finished by hand in our own workshop. Strap anchors are stitched and riveted, not glued, and the edges are burnished in several passes so there is no paint to flake.

Care

Wipe it with a dry cloth, keep it out of long direct sun, and give it a neutral leather conditioner a couple of times a year.
