The Ashby — Olive Leather Shoulder Bag

This olive is dyed into a warm base hide, so it leans brown-green rather than military green, and it darkens slightly with handling.

The Ashby is our structured shoulder bag: flat base, a zip that runs the full width, and a single strap cut to sit under the arm without sliding.

It is 12.5″ (32 cm) wide, 9.5″ (24 cm) tall and 4″ (10 cm) deep, with a 9.5″ (24 cm) drop. That takes a wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses and a paperback or small tablet, and still closes flat.

Inside there is a zip pocket on the back wall and two open pockets for a phone and a card wallet, so the main compartment stays clear for the bigger things.

The leather

Full-grain, aniline finished leather. The colour sits in the leather rather than on it, so the bag patinas rather than peels.

How it is made

Made to order in our own workshop. The strap roots, the part that fails first on cheap bags, are double layered and hand stitched, and all fittings are solid brass.

Care

Brush off dust, keep it away from heaters, and use a little neutral conditioner when the leather starts to look dry.
