The Lorne — Black Leather Work Tote with Zip

The Lorne in black is the bag for anyone who has to put a laptop on a boardroom table and would rather the bag said nothing at all. A full length zip closes over the whole opening, the panels are unbroken, and the only hardware you see is the zip pull and four brass feet underneath.

It comes in two sizes. The medium is 15.25″ (39 cm) wide, 11.5″ (29 cm) high and 5″ (13 cm) deep, with a 10.25″ (26 cm) handle drop, and takes up to a 14-inch laptop, padded sleeve. The large is 18.5″ (47 cm) wide, 12.25″ (31 cm) high and 5.5″ (14 cm) deep, with a 10.75″ (27 cm) handle drop, and takes up to a 16-inch laptop, padded sleeve. The leather

The hide is full grain and aniline dyed, so the color runs through the leather instead of sitting on it as a pigment film. In daylight it reads as very dark brown rather than pure black, which is the giveaway that nothing was sprayed over it.

How it is made

Every cut edge is sanded and burnished in four passes rather than painted, so it cannot flake off in a strip. No edge paint anywhere on the bag, and no glued handle tabs, which are the two places a cheap tote gives way. Twill lined, with the laptop sleeve running the whole height of the back so the machine cannot slide under everything else. Nothing is pre made, so allow 3 to 5 working days before it ships.
