The Skipton — Black Suede Sling Bag

This is the Skipton sling in suede: the same slim body, quick front pocket and hidden back zip pocket, in soft cow suede bound in smooth leather.

A deep, flat black suede with smooth black leather trim. There is no shine on it, so it reads as quietly smart.

It is 11.5″ (29 cm) wide, 6.25″ (16 cm) tall and 2.25″ (6 cm) deep, with a buckle strap that adjusts from an 11.75″ to a 20.75″ (30 to 53 cm) drop. Phone, passport, wallet, keys and an e-reader.

Inside there is a front quick-access zip pocket, a hidden zip pocket on the back and two slip pockets inside. It comes with an adjustable 1.25″ (3 cm) smooth leather sling strap with brass buckle, 11.75″ to 20.75″ (30 to 53 cm) drop.

The suede

We use cow suede with a short, even nap, so it feels soft without shedding. The strap, binding and zip ends are smooth full-grain leather, which takes the wear that suede alone would not.

How it is made

Made to order in our own workshop. The suede body is lined in cotton twill so it keeps its shape, the strap anchors are leather, stitched and riveted, and the hardware is solid brass.

Care

Keep a suede brush and an eraser block at home: brush to refresh, rub out small marks with the block, and avoid heavy rain. Never use leather conditioner on the suede.
