The Skipton — Chocolate Suede Sling Bag

Chocolate suede is a deep, soft brown with a velvety nap. It is the easiest suede to live with, since it hides marks and goes with almost everything.

This is the Skipton sling in suede: the same slim body, quick front pocket and hidden back zip pocket, in soft cow suede bound in smooth leather.

It is 11.5″ (29 cm) wide, 6.25″ (16 cm) tall and 2.25″ (6 cm) deep, with a buckle strap that adjusts from an 11.75″ to a 20.75″ (30 to 53 cm) drop. Phone, passport, wallet, keys and an e-reader.

Inside there is a front quick-access zip pocket, a hidden zip pocket on the back and two slip pockets inside. It comes with an adjustable 1.25″ (3 cm) smooth leather sling strap with brass buckle, 11.75″ to 20.75″ (30 to 53 cm) drop.

The suede

Suede is the inner side of the hide, brushed until it has a soft, velvety nap. It is a different thing from full-grain, and we say so: it is softer and lighter but less resistant to rain. Every edge, the strap and the parts your hands touch most are trimmed in smooth full-grain leather.

How it is made

Suede panels are cut, bound in smooth leather along every edge and hand stitched in our own workshop. Binding the edges is what stops suede from fraying or stretching at the corners.

Care

Brush it with a soft suede brush to lift the nap, use a suede protector spray before the first wear, and let it dry naturally if it gets caught in rain, then brush again.
