The Helmsley — Cognac 24″ Leather Holdall

The Helmsley is our biggest bag, a structured 24 inch holdall for the trips that need more than a weekend’s packing. In cognac the smooth full grain leather has a warm amber colour that looks right on a station platform and in the boot of a car.

A wide U-shaped zip opens most of the top, so you can lay shirts flat rather than stuffing them in. A separate zipped compartment at one end takes shoes or wet kit, and a full-width slip pocket on the front holds tickets and a book.

A cognac leather holdall for longer trips

At 24 by 13 by 11 inches it holds around 55 litres, enough for three to five nights. The panels are firm full grain cowhide with dark edge piping, so the bag keeps its shape when half packed.

Please note that it is larger than most airline carry-on limits. It is a bag for the car, the train or the hold.

The shoe compartment and pockets

The end compartment zips shut and has its own dark lining, keeping shoes away from clothes. Inside the main section, a dark olive canvas lining carries a zipped wall pocket and two slip pockets.

Handles and shoulder strap

The flat stitched handles close together with a leather wrap. A detachable shoulder strap clips to brass D-rings with swivel hooks, so it never twists on the shoulder.
