Description
Tan makes the Juno look softer than it is. Under the pale vegetable tanned surface it is the same structured shell as the black, and it will darken faster than any other Juno because a small bag spends more of its life in your hand.
You get 26cm of opening and, more usefully, 11cm of depth at the bottom rather than at the belly. The honest list is a phone, a purse, keys, glasses and a bottle. Nothing with a screen bigger than a paperback. The 18cm drop means it sits high under the arm rather than hanging at the hip.
Buy it if your everyday load is small and you want it closed, on a table, standing up by itself.
The leather
This is vegetable tanned leather, tanned with bark rather than chromium, and it is the only leather we sell that visibly ages. The change is permanent and uneven, it starts at the handles, and it is the entire point of buying this colour.
How it is made
Every cut edge is sanded and burnished in four passes rather than painted, so it cannot flake off in a strip. No edge paint anywhere on the bag, and no glued handle tabs, which are the two places a cheap tote gives way. A single zip pocket and a card slot, stitched into heavy cotton twill. Nothing is pre made, so allow 3 to 5 working days before it ships.

Can I carry a laptop in this bag?
No, and that is deliberate. At 26cm wide and 11cm deep it takes a tablet at most. If you need a laptop bag, look at the Lorne or the large Marlow instead.
Does the Juno stand up on its own?
Yes. The base is a single reinforced panel and the sides are structured, so it stays upright on a table or a floor whether it is full or empty.
Will the tan leather darken?
Yes, and quickly at the handles. It is vegetable tanned, so sunlight and the oils from your hands take it from honey toward chestnut over about two years. The change is uneven and permanent. If you want it to stay as it arrives, choose chocolate.
What is covered if something breaks?
Stitching and hardware are covered for as long as you own the bag. Send it back and we repair it. Wear on the leather itself, and anything caused by an accident, we repair at cost rather than free.
